The signup form leaves optional product emails off unless you check the email choice. You can also change that choice later in Account or unsubscribe in one click. When enabled, this email family includes account-activation tips, Monday check-ins, recorded-wait reminders, plan information, community stories, and re-engagement messages. Content may use your first name, email address, general case details, saved dates, and fixed GreenLight labels for saved updates; it excludes receipt numbers and raw pasted status text. Essential security or account-service messages are handled separately. These emails do not check USCIS. Pro adds the deeper features listed on the current upgrade screen.

No. GreenLight is an independent tool. Processing references and Community Pulse observations have different sources:

• Processing-time references: each row identifies either an official USCIS national median or a third-party ImmigrationTimes.org aggregate range midpoint
• Community Pulse: account-free public milestone observations deliberately shared from signed-in Timelines and shown only after the privacy threshold is met

For your official case status, always use your receipt number on my.uscis.gov. GreenLight does not have access to USCIS systems.

Paste a USCIS status message after removing receipt numbers and other identifiers (like "Case Is Being Actively Reviewed By USCIS") and get a plain-English explanation, a severity label (good news / attention needed / action required), and suggested next steps.

It uses a curated knowledge base of common USCIS statuses. For unusual messages not in the knowledge base, our AI decodes the status in plain, understandable language.

The daily limit resets at midnight. GreenLight tracks a server-side usage count using a salted IP hash and, when signed in, your account ID. Your raw status text is not stored with that count.

Common status messages are matched against GreenLight's curated server-side knowledge base without using a third-party AI. If a receipt-free message does not match, the text is sent transiently through GreenLight's API to DeepSeek, our AI processor, to generate an explanation.

GreenLight is designed not to log or persist the raw pasted status text. Remove names, receipt numbers, A-numbers, and other identifiers before pasting; GreenLight rejects receipt numbers.

GreenLight's general document reference covers I-765, I-129, I-485, I-130, I-140, N-400, I-131. It separates items by lifecycle stage so filing evidence, receipt notices, appointments, post-approval records, and use of an issued document are not presented as one universal filing packet.

A recently filed case can remain unchanged while USCIS accepts the filing, creates a receipt notice, and decides whether biometrics or another step is needed. There is no single early-stage timetable that applies to every form, filing method, and USCIS location.

Community data comes from milestone submissions that people voluntarily share through GreenLight: filing date, biometrics date, approval date, and others. The sharing request is authenticated: GreenLight uses the signed-in case and history IDs to verify ownership, then publishes an account-free observation.

The public observation contains no:

• Receipt numbers (EAC, WAC, LIN, SRC numbers)
• Names or contact information
• Any user ID linked to a submission

Each Community Pulse observation is limited to a date, case type, field office, and milestone without a name, receipt number, contact detail, or linked account ID. The authenticated request and private account data are handled separately.

The Community Pulse page shows recent anonymous, self-reported milestone observations by form type. To protect people in a small sample, GreenLight hides numeric totals until at least five matching submissions appear in the seven-day window.

From the Timeline page, use the "Share with community" option after logging a milestone. The authenticated request uses your signed-in case and history IDs to verify ownership; the resulting public Community Pulse observation has no name, receipt number, contact detail, or linked account ID attached.

Each eligible submission adds one self-reported observation and can broaden Community Pulse coverage. The data remains descriptive and is not a verified case-status feed or a forecast.

Yes. Monthly Pro can be cancelled at any time from your Account page. Cancellation is handled through Stripe's secure Customer Portal: instant and no hoops.

When you cancel, your Pro access continues until the end of the current billing period. You won't be charged again after that.

Life of Case ($59) and Life of Case Plus ($99) are one-time purchases: no recurring charges and nothing to cancel.

Privacy is a core design principle at GreenLight. Here's exactly what lives where:

• Receipt numbers: GreenLight does not ask for or store them. The decoder rejects receipt-shaped input at the client and API boundary. Remove receipt numbers and other identifiers before pasting status text or RFE notice lines.
• Our servers if you create an account: your account email, subscription status, general case details needed for saved history and recorded-data emails, plus decoded explanations and severity metadata you intentionally save.
• Anonymous community data: milestone submissions you choose to share for benchmarks.

Receipt numbers are rejected by GreenLight at the client and API boundary and are not stored.

Deleting your account removes your GreenLight sign-in. It does not cancel active monthly billing; cancel the subscription and wait for Pro access to end first. Linked application data follows configured retention rules. Payment, email-delivery, analytics, security, backup, tax, or legal records may be retained when required.
