Frequently asked questions

Is this data anonymous?
The public observation is account-free, but the sharing request is authenticated. GreenLight receives the signed-in case and history IDs to verify ownership, derives the milestone, then writes a public row with no linked account, case, history, email, IP, or receipt number. A separate private HMAC receipt prevents duplicate contributions without publishing those identifiers.
Which milestones can appear?
Community Pulse accepts six deliberately shared milestones: case received, biometrics, interview scheduled, interview completed, card production, and approval. It shows anonymous, self-reported counts in a 7-day window only when at least five matching submissions are available.
How current is this data?
This page uses a cached view that is periodically refreshed after requests. Counts use a rolling 7-day window and can lag recent submissions while cached content is being refreshed.
Why does a form show 'growing community'?
When fewer than 5 matching milestone submissions have been reported for a form type in the last 7 days, we don't show a number to protect the privacy of early users (small counts could reveal individuals). We show a low-activity message instead and invite you to track your case, then deliberately choose Share with community.
How do I add my case to the community?
Sign up free at GreenLight, add your case, then choose “Share with community” on your Timeline. GreenLight uses the signed-in case and history IDs to verify the request, then adds an account-free public observation; GreenLight does not ask for or store receipt numbers.
